Located in Winterville, Georgia, Sweet Olive Farm Sanctuary provides a forever home to hundreds of animals including dogs, pigs, chickens, sheep, cows, horses, donkeys, alpacas, geese, and an emu. Along with giving these animals a loving home, the goal of the sanctuary is to engage with the community and show people that these animals are sentient individuals rather than a source of food.

Our goal is to show this to dining hall administration with the hope of having them transition from their current cookies to these sustainable, plant-based ones. Students brought up many good points for why the dining hall should make the switch: from offering more options to those with dietary restrictions to animal rights to the environment. Hampton Creek gives us an option to do that without sacrificing the taste or raising the cost.

Earlier this year, Cake Walk opened up near the corner of Milledge Avenue and Springdale Street. They offer a wide variety of sweets from local bakers as well as coffee, home decor, and gifts. Owner Jennifer Mitchel states that opening a bakery is something she's always wanted to do, and she most enjoys putting a smile on a customer's face.
